Tehran has indicated that a “major development” in preparations for talks between Iran and the United States in Islamabad could occur “as early as tonight or tomorrow,” according to an Iranian diplomatic source speaking to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
“A significant development in the ongoing diplomatic dialogue between Pakistan and Iran could be achieved as early as tonight or tomorrow, given the continued high-level contacts between the two sides,” the source reportedly said.
Meanwhile, as reported since yesterday, Washington is said to have given Tehran a three- to five-day deadline to present its own proposals and return to negotiations for a possible agreement aimed at ending the conflict in the Middle East.
In the same context, sources in Islamabad referred to positive mediation efforts with Tehran, raising the possibility of further peace talks within the next “36 to 72 hours.” When asked by the New York Post, Donald Trump responded that it is “possible,” leaving the door open for potential developments.
