Speaking to reporters at the White House, Donald Trump made positive remarks about Greece, prompted by an interview given by Kyriakos Mitsotakis to Breitbart.
Among other things, the American president said that “Greece is fantastic” and that “it has helped us a lot in many areas, because it understands the importance.”
Referring to the prime minister, Trump said he is a “terrific guy.”
Remarks on Iran
Trump was also asked about Iran, with the American president acknowledging that Iran may have “somewhat” replenished its arsenal during the two weeks of the ceasefire, but argued that U.S. armed forces could neutralize it within a day.
He was asked about the possibility of using nuclear weapons against Iran, but dismissed it, even calling it “a stupid question.”
He reiterated that he is not under pressure to end the war, adding that he wants to secure the best possible agreement with Iran.
He claimed that the United States fully controls the Strait of Hormuz and said he did not want Iran to earn hundreds of millions of dollars from oil exports during the ceasefire.
Finally, he defended his decision to extend the ceasefire, saying he wanted to give Tehran time to handle internal turmoil within its power centers, suggesting that the Iranian regime has been shaken and that there are internal disagreements.
