Kyriakos Mitsotakis, together with Emmanuel Macron, are expected to visit shortly the frigate “Kimon,” the first French-built Belharra-class frigate to be integrated into the Greek fleet.

Also participating in the visit are the Defense Ministers of Greece and France, the Deputy Foreign Ministers of both countries, as well as the military leadership, including the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff and the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff.

After their official reception by the Hellenic Navy command, the two leaders will proceed to the frigate’s Operations Center, where they will be briefed by the captain on the ship’s capabilities.

The visit will continue with a presentation in the operations planning area (Planning Room) and will conclude on the ship’s bridge.

Immediately afterward, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Emmanuel Macron will head to the Maximos Mansion, where agreements for the new Greece–France defense cooperation will be signed.

The French president has been in Athens since yesterday (24/04), as part of the renewal of Greek–French defense cooperation.

In fact, Emmanuel Macron sent a strong message of geopolitical support toward Greece during his discussion with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on the sidelines of his visit to the Roman Agora.
