- Buses and trolleybuses will run between 09:00 and 21:00 on Friday, May 1, 2026, due to Labour Day strike actions.
- Workers will hold stoppages from the start of service until 09:00 and from 21:00 until the end of service (00:00).
They are demanding:
- public, safe, modern, and reliable transport that meets passengers’ needs,
- meaningful measures against high prices and profiteering,
and are calling on workers to attend the rally at Klafthmonos Square at 11:00 a.m.
Suburban bus routes operated by the Attica Transport Consortium are expected to run normally.
Metro and ISAP (electric railway)
- The metro will operate with work stoppages from the start of service until 09:00 and from 23:00 until the end of the shift.
- The ISAP (electric railway) will hold a 24-hour strike.
Train services
- On May Day (Friday, May 1, 2026), no train services will run across the entire rail network, including suburban rail, due to the nationwide strike called by the GSEE.
Hellenic Train also announced that on Thursday, April 30, the following late-night routes will be replaced by buses:
- 2534 (Athens–Chalkida), departure 22:28, on the section Afidnes–Chalkida (no stops at Dilessi and Agios Georgios)
- 2539, departure 00:00, on the section Chalkida–Oinoi
- 1239, departure 23:32, on the section Airport–Tavros (stopping at Koropi, Kantza, Plakentia, Nerantziotissa, and Athens)
- 2302 (21:14) and 2304 (22:14), on the section Magoula–Kiato (no stop at Zevgolatio)
Ships
- A 24-hour nationwide strike by the Panhellenic Seamen’s Federation means ships will remain docked at all ports from 00:01 until midnight.
Passengers planning travel—especially to the islands—are advised to contact ferry companies or agencies to modify their tickets.
