The United Arab Emirates reported that four drones from Iran were launched toward the country, none of which hit a target, as three were shot down and one fell into the sea.

Shortly afterward, it was reported that a “large fire broke out” at the oil facility in Fujairah following a drone attack from Iran.

On Monday afternoon, warning sirens sounded three times in Dubai, urging residents to remain in protected locations.

Oil prices recorded another increase after the attacks—especially the one in Oman—with Brent crude climbing above $113 per barrel.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Defense said:
“Four loitering munitions [suicide drones] heading from Iran toward the country were detected. Three were successfully intercepted over the country’s territorial waters, while the fourth fell into the sea.

The Ministry of Defense confirmed that the sounds heard in various areas of the country were the result of the successful interception of aerial threats.

The Ministry calls on the public to rely on official sources for updates, verify information, and follow all public safety measures when receiving warning messages.”

Alerts in Dubai

The nightmare of missile attacks returned to Dubai, causing concern among residents of the emirate.

Shortly after 17:00 on Monday (15:00 in Greece), thousands of citizens received an emergency security alert on their mobile phones warning of a possible missile threat and urging immediate protective action.

The message, displayed in English and Arabic, warned that “due to the current situation, there is a possibility of missile threats” and called on citizens to seek shelter immediately in the nearest safe building.

At the same time, people were advised to stay away from windows, doors, and open spaces, and to await further instructions from the authorities. The alert was issued by the Ministry of Interior (MOI), adding significant weight and reinforcing the sense that it was a precautionary measure amid heightened alert.

Around 19:00 (local time), another emergency alert with the same content was sent to residents’ phones in Dubai.

Shortly after 19:20 (local time), a third warning message was also issued.
