Police officers from the Internal Affairs Service of the Hellenic Police (ELAS) carried out raids on urban planning offices in several areas of Attica on Friday following reports that an organized network involved in illicit “arrangements” and “favors” was operating within these offices.

According to information, the operation by ELAS’s anti-corruption unit targeted urban planning offices in areas including Kifisia, Galatsi, and Marousi.

The same sources indicate that Internal Affairs investigators have made at least six arrests in connection with the alleged network, which was reportedly led by a woman employed by a municipality in Attica.

Authorities found and seized more than €330,000 in cash from members of the group. Approximately half of that amount was reportedly discovered in the possession of the alleged leader.

Police sources also state that the investigation involves a total of 32 individuals suspected of involvement in the cases under examination.
