Russia said today that its forces struck three Ukrainian ports overnight in attacks that targeted infrastructure — such as loading and unloading facilities and fuel storage tanks — supporting Kyiv’s armed forces.

The Russian Ministry of Defence said that missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) struck the ports of Odesa, Izmail, and Mykolaiv, as part of what it described as a campaign of heavy strikes against Ukraine.

According to the statement, in Odesa, storage tanks containing fuel and lubricants intended for the Ukrainian military were hit, while unloading and storage facilities used for cargoes of military equipment, such as surface drones, were struck in Izmail. A floating pier at the same port was also hit.

In Mykolaiv, the Ministry of Defence said that its forces struck a commercial vessel that was unloading military equipment.

Reuters was not able to independently verify these reports.

At the same time, a Russian attack on an energy facility in Chernihiv, in northern Ukraine, and the surrounding area resulted in nearly 150,000 consumers being left without electricity, according to a local power company. Chernihivoblenergo announced that efforts were underway to restore the power supply.
