A fire broke out in a rural and forested area in Komara, Evros, on Tuesday afternoon, August 18.

The Fire Brigade’s Operations Center was notified of the fire in Komara at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Immediately, 18 firefighters, including a foot patrol team from the 20th Special Forest Firefighting Unit (EMODE), along with six vehicles, were mobilized.

A helicopter was also deployed for aerial firefighting operations.

The Evros Arson Investigation Unit was mobilized to investigate the cause of the fire.
