Approximately 45 foreign nationals were found aboard a small boat in the sea area south of Kali Limenes, on the island of Crete.
The operation was carried out under the coordination of the Hellenic Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC), while the boat was spotted by an aircraft operated by Frontex.
The approximately 45 people on board were picked up by a Hellenic Coast Guard patrol vessel in waters 29 nautical miles south of Kali Limenes.
The migrants are being transported to the port of Kali Limenes.
