Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described a new security agreement with Greece, known as the “Achilles Shield”, as one of the most significant deals in the country’s history.

In a post on X, Netanyahu wrote: “The security agreement signed today with Greece, one of the largest in the country’s history, is a direct continuation of the Eastern Mediterranean alliance we forged a decade ago with Greece and Cyprus. It serves as further proof of the…”

He added that the agreement “is further proof of the immense capabilities of Israel’s defence and technology industries. This move reflects Israel’s strength, confidence in our defence exports, and the strengthening of regional alliances.”
