The political landscape remains unchanged after the Thessaloniki International Fair, according to an ALCO poll presented on Alpha’s main evening news bulletin. New Democracy maintains a significant lead in voting intention, with the gap between the two parties standing at 9.9 percentage points.

In voting intention, New Democracy receives 24.3%, compared with 14.4% for ELAS, followed by PASOK on 11.1%, Hellenic Solution on 6.4% and the KKE on 6.2%. Course of Freedom is recorded at 3.5%, Hope for Democracy at 3.1%, MeRA25 at 2.6%, while Voice of Reason stands at 2.2% and SYRIZA at 2%. They are followed by Niki on 1.3% and Democrats on 0.7%, while undecided voters account for 22.2%.

Compared with previous polls included in the survey data, New Democracy has moved from 24% to 24.3%, ELAS from 14.7% to 14.4%, while PASOK has risen from 10.4% to 11.1%. Hellenic Solution stands at 6.4%, down from 6.7%, while Hope for Democracy has lost a large part of its support, falling from 7.8% to 3.1%.

Who can implement what they announce

Asked which political leader can implement what they announced at the Thessaloniki International Fair, Kyriakos Mitsotakis receives 27%, Alexis Tsipras 14.5% and Nikos Androulakis 12.5%. Of particular interest is the fact that 40% of respondents answer “none”.

A similar picture emerges in the question of which party program is considered the most realistic and implementable. New Democracy receives 23%, PASOK 12%, ELAS 10% and the KKE 4%, while 32% choose the answer “none”.

Asked which political leader understands the country’s problems best, Kyriakos Mitsotakis receives 22%, Alexis Tsipras 14% and Nikos Androulakis 8%.

A “third chance” for Mitsotakis

The question of whether Kyriakos Mitsotakis should be given a “third chance” is also of particular political interest.

Some 67% say there should be a change, while 25% favour giving the prime minister a third chance. A further 8% did not answer.
