Danish authorities have arrested two men on suspicion of espionage, police announced on Tuesday, without providing further details. Media reports said the target was a defence company.
“We arrested two individuals on Monday, 19 October 2026,” the North Jutland Police said in a statement.
The two men appeared before a preliminary hearing at Aalborg Court on Tuesday, accused of violating Section 108(1) of the Danish Criminal Code, which covers acts of espionage.
The case is being investigated in cooperation with the intelligence services, police added.
“This is a case that we are treating with the utmost seriousness,” said Sune Mirup, the officer in charge of the investigation, according to the statement.
According to Danish public broadcaster DR, the two men, who are around 20 years old, each had a Russian interpreter during the hearing.
DR reported that the defence company MyDefence, which specialises in drone detection and jamming solutions, had been targeted in espionage activities.
