8 out of 10 citizens are disappointed in the gov’t

63% said that the government and the Prime Minister are doing worse than they expected

A new poll conducted by Alco for Proto Thema newspaper shows New Democracy party leading over SYRIZA by 3.3% confirming that the election of Kyriakos Mitsotakis has brought a change to main opposition party, while SYRIZA’s voters seem to abandon Alexis Tsipras day by day.

The poll was conducted from 12 to 15 January on 1,000 people and the results show that 80% of the respondents are pessimistic about the Greek economy while 75% of the respondents say they are pessimistic about the economic situation of their family.

According to the survey carried out for Proto Thema, only 10% of the respondents stated that Alexis Tsipras and his government are doing as well as they expected while a 2% believed that the situation is better than expected. However, 63% said that the government and the Prime Minister are doing worse than they expected and 19% said that the situation is as bad as they expected. Therefore, about 8 out of 10 citizens are disappointed in the government.

More specifically, New Democracy receives 21.3% while SYRIZA comes second with 18%, while Greece’s Communist Party (KKE) comes third with 5.4%, followed by Golden Dawn with 5.2%.

Union’s Centrists: 2.6%
