Israel carried out air strikes on nine targets  in Syria after the attack occurred in occupied Golan Heights where a 15-year-old boy died and two people were wounded.

Israel claims that this was the answer to a series of border violations and gunfire from Syria and that this was done to safeguard Israeli citizens.

A military spokesman said that “the military will not tolerate any attempt to breach Israel’s sovereignty and will act in order to safeguard the civilians of the state of Israel”.
