The Prime Minister is determined to submit all bills that are needed in order to meet the prerequisites for the disbursement of the next tranches and close any outstanding issue towards the creditors during the summer, attempting to satisfy the Troika while having the smallest political cost derived from the hard and unpopular measures.
The bill on urban planning regulations has already been submitted and is expected to be voted for by the Parliament urgently, not allowing members to understand what they vote, while the bill for the small PPC will be submitted next week.
The government has no doubt about the policy it will follow. Schaeuble and Troika ruled out any thoughts on a socially orientated policy.
Mr Samaras, though, is not worried about whether the bills will pass or no. He knows that these bills will pass, this is why he decided to submit these bills during the summer sessions of the Parliament in order to be able to change the MPs who would not vote for the bills. What worries him, though, is the political and social cost for him personally and his political party due to these decisions.
