Greek PM Alexis Tsipras is expected to have a brief tête-à-tête US President Barack Obama at reception for international leaders next week on the sidelines of the annual UN General Assembly.
The soirée for the attending heads of state and government comes on Wednesday in NYC, where Tsipras will travel to represent Greece.
On the more official itinerary, Tsipras will reportedly meet with US Secretary of State John Kerry on the same day.
The newly elected SYRIZA government, the second in 2015, is keen to continue to cultivate high-level relations with the Obama administration, especially in the wake of several high-profile statements from Washington in favor of Greek positions during the often acrimonious negotiations with European creditors in 2015.
The leftist leader will land in the United States on Sunday.
