Greek Orthdox Bishop Ambrosios of Kalabvyta and Aigaleia decided to have the church bells toll in mourning from noon to 12.30 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday. The cause is the voting of the same-sex partnership agreement by Greek Parliament.

Apart from the mourning tolls of the holy churches at Aigio on Monday and Tuesday, there have been rallies organized at central points of Aigio in the Peloponnese protesting against the new law that gives the LGBT civil partnership rights.
