The National Archeological Museum of Greece marks its 150th anniversary in 2016. Celebrations include the presentation of a new object from the “Unseen Museum” (artifacts in storage) as well as a series of events on January 4.

During the day, the museum will present visitors with its program for the New Year (6 p.m. to 8 p.m.) at the Hall of the Altar after which curators will reveal a masterpiece red-figure crater depicting the eternal banquet of Dionysus and Nike and their own wish for longevity and a good life.

Events will be followed by a performance by the Mixed Choir of Keratsini-Drapetsona Municipality and the Mixed Choir of the Association Faraklata of Cephalonia with traditional songs and Christmas carols of the Ionian islands.
