Now that Christmas holiday period is over, travelers are starting searching for their summer destination.

“January bookings are a weather vane for the travel industry – early indicators of customer confidence and popular destinations” Mirror says in an article on top Google’s travel-related searches.

As the article mentions, last year Paris was on top of the Google’s travel-related searches, while for this year it has dropped out of the Top 10.

Furthermore, destinations that are consistently popular such as Australia and Italy remain in the Top 10, while Turkey also failed to be included in the Top 10 this year.

But, as it is mentioned, the big winners are Greece and Tenerife , according to Thomas Cook.

A spokesman said: “Spain, in particular Tenerife, and Greece are our most searched-for destinations for a summer holiday.”
