The new draft bill on social security system that Greek government proposes includes indirect pension cuts of up to 125 euros per month.

According to the newspaper “Eleftheros Typos”, Article 10 of the bill provides the child benefit included in the pension that it will be calculated based on new rates, 8 % for the first child, 10% for the second and 12% for the third child.

The current child benefits, though, are calculated based on a higher rate and the changes in the calculation will lead to new indirect pension cuts affecting more than 500,000 pensioners, especially mothers retired with minor children, military retirees, people retired due to disability, and pensioners with a child with recorded disability rate of at least 67%.
