Joseph Fiennes would be considered by most an unlikely contender to play the role of Michael Jackson in a brand new TV drama. As if that wasn’t odd enough, the series focuses on the odd story of Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brandon and their road trip from New York to California.

The series shows how the three stars rent a car following Jackson’s invite to his September 11, 2001, concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden after the three friends were unable to fly back to California due to the air travel shutdown.

The celebrity road trip makes for fine viewing. Fiennes says that it is “fun, lighthearted, tongue-in-cheek” poke into the relationship of the three stars who had fun as Brando apparently insisted on stopping off at various fast food restaurnts on the way.
