EU member states examine the details of a controversial plan, which includes sending border guards and even troops to FYROM’s border with Greece in an effort to stop the flow of migrants entering northern Europe, as the Financial Times writes.

According to the article, tightening the border between FYROM and Greece has become a popular plan in Brussels and Berlin, as well in many Balkan countries, despite the fact that Greece has stated clearly its opposition.

Officials from many countries, including Greece, Turkey and countries from the former Yugoslavia, have raised the possibility of EU sending more border guards and troops to the FYROM border with Greece in an effort to control or “hermetically seal” the border.
