The Greek government is scrambling to find aid in its efforts to deal with the humanitarian refugee crisis. Despite the rhetoric of solidarity Greece received during the recent EU-Turkey Summit on the refugee crisis by the majority of countries, the reality is PM Alexis Tsipras finds himself increasingly isolated after yet another country, this time Italy, decided to send forces to the borders between Greece and Albania in a joint operation with Albania to seal off a passage through the Adriatic. During her official visit to Greece and FYROM US Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs Victoria Nuland revealed Greece requested aid from the US to deal with the growing humanitarian crisis. At and press conference in the US Embassy Nuland said the US were in favour of a just and transparent agreement between the EU and Turkey on the refugee crisis issue. Meanwhile, the German Interior Ministry stated it was ready to dispatch humanitarian aid to Greece.
