New incident broke out between Syrian and Afghan refugees on Thursday afternoon at Piraeus port, where about 5,000 people are staying at the passenger terminals.
According to reports, shortly after 19.00 about 30 people started fighting while being lined up to get some food.
Piraeus Port Authority coast guard officers rushed to the scene and managed to separate the refugees who were fighting.
In another incident today, three refugees were stabbed, possibly with a knife, and taken to Thriasio Hospital in Attica after a fight broke out among 20 immigrants and refugees at E1 gate passenger station at Piraeus port around 1:00 on Thursday.
Piraeus Port Authority coast guard officers intervened and took the three injured men to hospital for first aid.
Shipping and Island Policy Minister Thodoris Dritsas later visited the scene of the fight accompanied by the head of the Hellenic Coast Guard Rear Admiral Stamatios Raptis in order to be briefed by port authorities on the incident and the investigation that has been launched.
