In a report published Monday, HSBC bank expressed its serious doubts whether the EU-Turkey agreement on the refugee crisis could operate. The report also expressed serious reservations regarding the negative impact the agreement would have on the fragile Greek economy. HSBC warns that the 72,000 limit of refugee exchange between Turkey and the EU mentioned in the EU-Turkey document will soon have to be revised upward, as experience shows that the flow of migrants and refugees increases during the summer period. The report says the management cost of the agreement could reach as much as 4bln Euros annually, adding that political instability in Greece could exacerbate the problem, despite the intention of the Tsipras government to avoid early elections. The 8-page report highlights some of the main points of contention between Greece and its creditors, like the social insurance issue and the public finances gap.
