French photographer Romain Veillon has taken amazing photos over the past four years he’s spent travelling around the world which show what happens to buildings and scenery when they’ve been completely abandoned.

From eerie forgotten structures to haunting abandoned playgrounds, see some of the best photos available in Veillon’s new book, Ask the Dust.

The following photos were taken at Villa Epecuen, in Argentina, which was flooded in 1985 and later abandoned, and at Kolmanskop , Namibia which used to be a rich mining village.
