An incident occurred in the Parliament between members of the government and far-right Golden Dawn during the plenary session for the discussion and vote of the new social security and tax bills.

When Environment Minister Panos Skourletis accused Golden Dawn’s parliamentary spokesman Christos Papas of threatening his family, the members of Golden Dawn started lashing out at the minister with Elias Lagos leading the verbal conflict.

The president of the Parliament tried to calm dawn the members of Golden Dawn, but since this was not possible he asked the garrison of the Parliament to intervene and remove Elias Lagos.

The broadcast of the plenary session was interrupted, but the tension continued.
