German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble for the first time publicly admitted he had disagreed with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the handling of the Greek crisis in the past, in an interview to German newspaper ‘Handelsblatt’. ‘It is no secret that we disagreed, but a decision was made and I accepted it’, he said. On the pressing issue of a possible haircut of the Greek debt the German Finance Minister expressly ruled it out.
