NATO Leaders’ Dinner in Ankara Concludes; Watch Erdogan Welcome Mitsotakis at the White Palace

The dinner hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife for the leaders of NATO member states has concluded. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was among the attendees, having earlier been welcomed by the Turkish president at the White Palace.

The two leaders exchanged the customary handshake at the entrance to the presidential residence, shared a few opening remarks, and then posed for photographs.

Prime Minister Mitsotakis is accompanied in Turkey by his wife, Mareva, as well as his diplomatic adviser Katerina Nasika, Press Office Director Giorgos Efthymiou, Communications Director Kyra Kapi, and Aristotelia Peloni, Director of the Office for International Strategic Planning and Communications.

Also arriving in Ankara with Mr. Mitsotakis was Greece’s ambassador to Paris, Milton Nikolaidis, who is serving as the Prime Minister’s interpreter.

This evening, the Prime Minister is attending the official dinner hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his wife in honor of the leaders of NATO member states. Tomorrow, the NATO Summit will take place, with the Greek government emphasizing that Greece is participating from a position of strength and credibility.

According to government sources, Greece is taking part in the Summit “with the confidence of a strong and reliable ally that has not only consistently fulfilled its commitments over time but is also among the Alliance’s leading countries already implementing the goals agreed upon in The Hague.”
