Greece and beautiful beaches are practically synonymous. If you are lover of sea, sun and sand then you are bound to find to any type of beach you desire. The secret beaches are the ones that the locals covet the most and keep unspoiled from the waves of summer tourists, domestic or local.

The ‘Accursed Ports’ (or Satan’s Ports) is one of those treasured beaches in Chania, Crete the locals like tom keep to themselves. Situated 22km northeast of Chania on the east side of Acrotiri the beach took its name due to the treacherous winds and the three small oblong bays.

‘Glossa’, Messenia, Peloponnese

The other beach hidden from the rest of us is in Messenia, in the southwest Peloponnese. It is called ‘Glossa’, which means tongue, and is a small secluded bay located near Voidokilia Bay. The sea enters through the bay via a small narrow mouth. The waters are transparent and the beach is sandy, while the hanging forest virtually reaches the sandy beach creating a unique vista.
