Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ statements over the lenders’ demands on labor law have caused the strong reaction of opposition parties.

In an interview with Efimerida Ton Syntakton, Mr. Tsipras said that he would “defend labor issues as we did with the first residence and the pensions” during the debate with the lenders who ask for changes in labor law.

The main opposition party New Democracy lashed out at him stating that “Tsipras’ lies and incompetence know no bounds”.

“All Greeks are now aware of the fact that Mr. Tsipras has abolished the EKAS allowance for all pensioners, has given the loans of first residence under 140,000 euros to foreign funds. So, everyone understands that he will defend workers’ rights in the same way he did in the case of pensions and first residence loans”.

PASOK estimates that there will be a catastrophe regarding workers’ rights after prime minister stating that the government will defend labor law as it did with pensions and first residence.

“The new red lines will have the same fate as the previous ones,”Potami party said stressing that “everyone knows how much value Mr. Tsipras’ promises have. Zero.”
