The First Secretary of the Embassy of Canada in Moscow was expelled from the country today, in response to the expulsion of Russian assistant military attaché from Canadian authorities.

“On April 22nd, the diplomatic representation of Canada in Moscow was informed of the expulsion, within 14 days, of the first secretary of the embassy”, stated a source from the Canadian Foreign Ministry.

As noted by Itar-Tas agency, the decision was taken “in response to the recent expulsion of an assistant military attaché at the Russian Embassy in Ottawa”.
