The Deputy Minister of Finance Mr. Christos Staikouras stated to a Sunday newspaper that:  ” The harmonization of excise duties on heating and motion did not have the expected results, it failed.

Further he noted that economically inefficient policies which are also socially unfair should be changed immediately. He also adds that: “The obsession towards measures that are not performing, is not an indication of wisdom.”
Regarding the emergency contribution Mr. Staikouras indirectly indicates that as a result of judicial decisions is likely to continue in 2015.
