Doctors fought a hard battle to save the 3-year old boy’s hand in ”Hatzikosta” Orthopedics Clinic of Ioannina.The young boy was severely injured yesterday when he momentarily escaped his grandmother’s attention and put his hand in a laundry machine which was at that time in use. The accident took place in the town of Sivota of Thesprotia

The child was immediately transferred to hospital shortly after 13.30, and despite the bad condition of his hand his overall vital signs were thankfully good.

As ”Epirus-tv” mentioned, the team of doctors who operated on him managed to stitch it back after a long lasting surgery. They stated that the following days are crucial, especially the current 24 hours. By his side are at all times the parents as well as his grandmother who naturally collapsed after seeing her young grandson writhing in pain.
