Seven officers belonging to the inner circle of Russian president Vladimir Putin, and 17 companies related directly to the Russian president, had new sanctions imposed upon them by the U.S., in response to Russian interference in the Ukraine.

According the Reuters, the White House announced that the seven Russians, one of which is head of oil company Rosneft, Igor Sechin, as well as another close associate of Putin, are subject to a freeze of their assets in the U.S., while they have had a travel ban imposed on them if they want to travel to the United States.

At the same time, the U.S.A. will reject applications for export licenses for any high-tech objects that could aid Russian military capabilities, while ministries of Commerce and Foreign Affairs will recall any current, related, export license, as Reuters cited from the announcement made in the White House.

The other government officials who will suffer asset freezes in the US as well as the aforementioned travel bans are Oleg Belventsev, Sergey, Tsemezov, Dmitry Kozak, Evgeni Mourov, Alexei Pouskov, Vyacheslav Volodin.

This is the third round of sanctions imposed on Russia by the U.S. government, after the Russian invasion in Crimea and the deployment of troops at the Ukrainian border.
