The airports in Athens and Mykonos are among the European airports that had the highest increase in passenger traffic in June, according to data released by European airport trade body Airports Council International (ACI) Europe.
The ACI Europe’s latest report showed that Athens International Airport (AIA) had a 22.3% increase in passenger traffic in June. ACI Europe has included AIA in European airports receiving between 10 and 25 million passengers along with the airports in Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Brussels and Lisbon.
Mykonos airport also experience one of the highest increases in passenger traffic in Europe in June. According to the report published, it shows an increase of 41.7%.
Mykonos is included in the category of European airports that receive less than 5 million passengers per year along with the airports in Kiruna, Visby, Chisinau and Belgrade.
The ACI Europe Airport Traffic Report – June, Q2 & S1 2014 includes 208 airports representing more than 88% of European air passenger traffic.
