In the fourth part of an interview with the Greek Freak on the Milwaukee Buck’s TV channel, Giannis Antetokounmpo describes why helped an elderly man who fell down from a heat stroke in Athens last summer. Giannis also explains to the interviewer that he has changed “in a good way” since moving to the US and joining the NBA.
“I did what everybody else in my position would do. That’s the right thing to do. I was going to a Nike event. So, the guy is on the floor… It doesn’t matter what is going on. The guy is on the floor. Like you have to help. Maybe you cannot help, but you gotta check. But he was just hot, he was outside…he was old he was 80, 85 years old we grabbed him some water, we grabbed him a seat we made sure he was okay and I kept on moving. I think everybody in my position would do the same, and if not they should do the same”.
As to how he has changed as a character since he went to the US, the Greek international commented that he had indeed changed “not in a bad way”, he clarified, but that he now did not take things for granted. “I’m still a family man, I still love my family. I still stay true to myself”, he said. “I came here at 18 and I will be 24 “.
“I don’t take things for granted.”
