TAIPED to relaunch tender for horse race betting

Intralot improved its bid but this wasn’t enough to stop TAIPED from seeking a new bidder

The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (TAIPED) asked Intralot to increase its bid of 5.25 million euros for the right to organize and conduct horse race betting in Greece. The improved bid of 9 million euros was turned down, setting a precedent, and Greece is to launch afresh its tender for a mutual horse-betting license.

Sources say that Intralot is considering taking legal action against the decisionto launch the new tender over the coming days. Binding offers will be accepted by September 23.
