MPs who will be candidates in the upcoming European elections have submitted their resignations today to the Parliament President.

These MPs are Kostas Mousouroulis, MP from Chios with ND, who will be replaced by Mr. Stamatis Karmantzis and Heraklion ND MP Manolis Kefalogiannis, who will be replaced by George Diktakis.

From SYRIZA, MP Dimitris Papadopoulos has resigned, to be replaced by Mrs Anna Hatzisofia, Mrs. Sofia Sakorafa who will be replaced by Mrs. Fotini Kouvela and Mr. Manolis Glezos who will be replaced by Mrs. Mania Papadimitriou.

It should be noted that the well-known actress  was originally  intended as an MEP candidate, but when she was informed of Glezos’ candidacy, she withdrew in order to become an MP.

From the Independent Greeks party, candidate Mr. Notis Marias will be replaced in Parliament by Kostas Damavolitis.

It should be reminded that resigned MPs include Rena Dourou, who resigned to run as a candidate for Attica with SYRIZA, and Aris Spiliotopoulos, Athens Mayoral candidate with the New Democracy. Their places were assigned to Eleni Avlonitou and Tania Iakovidou respectively.
