The certainty that a Republic President will be elected “because the God of Greece is stronger than opportunism and foolishness”, was expressed by government vice-president Evangelos Venizelos in a press conference in Thessaloniki in the context of the city’s 79th International Fair.

Venizelos explained that when you are dealing with opportunism and foolishness you need both luck and some sort of “metaphysical support”.

Responding to the question on whether PASOK could cooperate with SYRIZA in the future, he pointed out that PASOK is nobody’s tail and does not want to be in government “no matter what”, adding that he does not believe that SYRIZA will be the winner in the next general elections.
