We have all probably heard of the old custom (it feels ages ago…) when a young man would go the father of his girlfriend and formally ask for her hand in marriage.

Well, those days are definitely gone for good it seems…A 23-year-old man from the city of Volos in central Greece asked to marry a wife from her husband!

According to volos.gr, the bizarre incident resulted in the budding “groom” and the 40-year-old husband getting into a serious altercation (one wonder why…) before both ended up at the local police station to solve their dispute.

The astonished police officers heard out both sides, but it is unclear whether the suitor and the husband reached any common grounds. It is also unknown if the wife was in a relationship with her purser..
