A trade, for more than once, became a young girl from Bulgaria, who experienced the modern slave trade at the age of 21 years! After repeated “Resales” she started working as a slave on the island of Lefkada.

The young woman was found in a complex of rooms to let, where she was being held against her will by a 52 year-old Greek who had “bought” her for cash from another Greek aged 55 years. Both were arrested by the Police who released the 21 year-old, while an unlicensed shotgun and brass knuckles were also confiscated at the 52 year old’s home.

During the investigation of the case, it was revealed that the 55 year old had paid an amount to a pair of Bulgarians who facilitated the initial entry into the country with the purpose of labor exploitation. The two Greeks were taken to the Lefkada Prosecutor who indicted them for felony trafficking, illegal violence and illegal gun possession and led them to the trial judge, while the Bulgarian slavers are now officially wanted.
