Hot pursuit in Athens – Corinth highway with criminals transporting heroin

One of them was injured by police shots - They had broken the security bars at the tolls of Elefsina during their attempt to avoid arrest

A hot pursuit of a vehicle with two criminals carrying a package of heroin, took place in the early hours of the morning on the Athens-Corinth highway, while one of them was slightly injured by police fire.

In particular, according to information from police sources, the Attica Drug Prosecution had the information that the specific individuals were trafficking heroin, based in Menidi.

Police officers of the Service and OPKE special police unit monitored the vehicle of the perpetrators in the early hours of the morning.

The latter, as soon as they noticed the police, at Elefsina, accelerated and at some point they left the highway and entered Nea Peramos.

Then they re-entered the highway, heading to Athens and broke the toll bars in Elefsina. Police officers in their attempt to immobilize them, shot at them resulting in one being slightly injured, while the vehicle fell on a protective ledge and came to a standstill, with both criminals being arrested.

It is noted that during the pursuit, they threw in the street a package containing heroin weighing 1 kg and 710 grams. The two criminals, who are to be taken to the prosecutor, are known to the authorities for various offenses.
