Ambush in Athens: 63-year-old businessman was shot with a Kalashnikov

The 63-year-old had stopped at a traffic light and in the car was his stepson and a friend

In the early hours of the morning, unknown individuals ambushed a businessman in Paleo Faliro, Athens.

The perpetrators, moving by car, shortly before 4:00′, approached the 63-year-old man at the intersection of Kronou and Aphrodite streets and shot him with an AK-47.

The victim was hit by bullets in the abdomen and in a serious condition was transported to the Red Cross hospital where he is being treated.

The 63-year-old had stopped at a traffic light and in the car was his stepson and a friend.

According to information, he was not known to the police.

At the time of the ambush, the traffic in the area was minimal and footage from the traffic cameras is being examined to determine the route of the perpetrators’ vehicle.
