In a festive atmosphere, nationalists have torn down a massive statue of Lenin in the center of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city.
The symbolic act of the tearing down of the statue was supported by officials, BBC reports.
Similar actions reportedly took place in other Ukrainian cities as well, such as Kiev, during the last months.
