Greek-German journalist Theodora Mavropoulos describes her experience of the performances of the Suitcase Opera in the National Library and the Transfiguration, the show of the educational program. The opera interacts with elementary schools in St. Panteleimon, while the journalist also recorded the views of National Opera Artistic Director Myron Michailidis, producers and attendees of performances.

The journalist highlights the GNO’s social role, through free performances given in schools and slum areas, while paying special attention to the reduction of debt through the parallel increase of the productions. Moreover, it mentions the donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation for the creation of new facilities for the National Opera in the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Foundation center.

Tagesspiegel is published in Berlin and circulates throughout Germany. It is published daily and is one of the leading newspapers of the country.
