Despite the Greek-Turkish meeting on Friday in Brussels, under conditions of extreme secrecy between Anna-Maria Boura, director of the Diplomatic Office of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and Ibrahim Kalin, representative and close associate of the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in the presence of diplomatic advisor of the German chancellor Olaf Scholz and with the aim of investigating the intentions of both sides for a possible restart of diplomatic contacts between the two countries, once returned again to his polemic rhetoric threatening Greece that Turkey would “come suddenly one night”.

Erdogan returned to his rhetoric of extreme provocations, in statements he made in the city of Mardin, before departing for Qatar, where he had been invited to attend the World Cup final.

The Turkish president said that if Greece continued to act out in the Aegean, Turkey would do what is necessary, repeating his warning: ‘We may come suddenly one night’.

Erdogan again referred to the Typhoon missile and… he did not forget to make it clear that the Turks “may come suddenly one night!”.

“What are they saying? That the crazy Turks are coming. Especially for the Typhoon missile, we were told that its range reaches 560 kilometers. We didn’t find it enough and we had a relevant meeting last week. ‘What is the final state we are in?’, I asked. We will reach 1,000 kilometers. Doesn’t that make the Greeks jump?’ said the Turkish president initially, in a particularly provocative tone.

And he continued, in an even more extreme tone, underlining: “Greece should not mess with us. We told them we can come out of nowhere one night, and we can prove it. If they don’t comply and stop provoking in the Aegean, we will do whatever is necessary. We have no dispute with you in the Aegean”.
