Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias met with his Israeli counterpart, Eli Cohen, on Friday in Nicosia, after the tripartite meeting of the Greek -Israeli-Cyprus foreign ministers. On the agenda of the bilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Greece and Israel was the deepening of Greek-Israeli strategic cooperation in areas such as energy, investments, economy, defense, and cooperation within international organizations.
They also discussed, according to a post by Nikos Dendias on social media, matters of the Patriarchate, the protection of Christian places of worship in the Holy Land, as well as international and regional developments.
Earlier, during the tripartite meeting of the Greek-Cyprus-Israel foreign ministers, ways of strengthening the close cooperation of the three countries in a wide range of sectors, such as energy, disaster response, and environmental protection, were examined. The discussion also focused on international and regional developments, such as the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
