If Italy does not have a saint responsible for protecting racing enthusiasts, it should get one, especially after the awe-inspiring events during a rally near Valle d’Aosta in the northern parts of the country.
Renault Clio driver, Piero Scavone, was not able to turn in time, resulting in his crashing into nearby spectators at full speed. A ton of metal that spiraled out of control barely missed the people trying to get out of the way by mere millimeters.
The result of the collision? No injuries, even though La Repubblica Italian newspaper makes mention of minor injuries that the driver and onlookers suffered.
