New Greek government sworn in at the Presidential Palace (video)

The 63 members of the new government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis are in the final stretch for the official assumption of their duties, as in a short time (at 13:00) they are expected to be sworn in at the Presidential Palace before the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister.

The only person absent from the ceremony will be the Deputy Minister of Health, Irini Agapidaki, who, as she announced, tested positive for coronavirus.

After the ceremony at the Presidential Palace standing by Archbishop Hieronymos, the new ministers and deputy ministers will proceed to their new “seats” for handover ceremonies by the serving ministers of the Sharma caretaker government.

Tomorrow, Wednesday at 11 am, the first meeting of the cabinet under Kyriakos Mitsotakis will take place, where the objectives of the new 4-year term of the New Democracy will be laid out along with the strategic priorities of each portfolio.

The profile of the new government

The government action plan will be guided by the central programmatic issues that were raised before the elections for a wage increase that will result from growth, for the reform of the National Social Security System, for a more citizen-friendly state, for a strong and secure Greece and for the reduction of inequalities.
